A winning combination!

Red Marsh School - The Magic Garden - GO! Project and Primary Landscapes Ltd.

Great Arley and Redmarsh Schools facilitate the educational needs for children with special requirements.

They share a 3.5 acre open, flat, waterlogged field site.

Primary Landscapes has worked with Great Arley and Redmarsh schools since February 2008 in drawing up the concept designs for the development of this site.

When Red Marsh School in Thornton Cleveleys became the successful recipient of the Big Lottery People’s Millions Competition shown on ITV Granada Reports in November 2008 winning £50,000. Primary landscapes worked with both schools in finalising the design specification for the 1st Phase of the “GO” (Great Outdoors) Project “The Magic Garden” A comprehensive development and project management service was then implemented. With the final touches now being installed an exciting, stimulating outdoor sensory play and learning environment has now been achieved in the grounds, accessible to both schools.

The remaining stages include:- Active Sensory. Active Fitness. Horticultural. Environmental. Wildlife & Outdoor Learning.

Primary Landscapes offer training for members of staff to support the use of outdoor space to inspire children’s learning through play, exploration, investigation, active learning, creativity and critical thinking in the outdoors, based on the ideas outlined in the manifesto of Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) endorsed by the DCSF.
